Oily facial and body skin
Oily facial skin is not the same as healthy, radiant skin. Oily skin is characterized by excessive secretion of sebum – the skin’s natural oils. Although this skin type has a stronger skin barrier and ages more slowly, excess oil often causes undesirable effects: shine, clogged pores, blackheads, and acne. Oily skin may also lack moisture – then it becomes sensitive and may feel tight. Oily body skin most commonly appears on the back or chest, where sebaceous gland activity is highest. It tends to develop pimples, blackheads, or even inflammatory breakouts.
The good news is that with proper care, oily skin can look healthy and smooth. The most important thing is to avoid aggressive cleansing, which only stimulates even greater oil production. Choose gentle cleansers, lightweight moisturizers, and products that help regulate sebum production.
